Privacy
This office is exempt from the provisions of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (see Section 6 (2) Part 1). The widely accepted and established procedures used by The Commissioners of Inquiry for Environment and Planning allow for individuals and groups to make submissions to this office in regard of the Inquiry subject matter. These submissions become public documents and are placed on public display throughout the Commission of Inquiry process. When an Inquiry is concluded these documents are then sent to NSW Records who are the custodians of all Government archival material. Records from Commissions of Inquiry remain accessible to the public on request. You should be aware that all submissions received by this office will be placed on public display and made available to interested parties during and after the Commission of Inquiry process unless claims of confidentiality are upheld by a Commission. No formal Freedom of Information restrictions apply to submissions received by this office.
